Not sure if this has been asked before, but My partner and I are With a population of 97,502, Beaverton is a smaller city. Crime rate is something to consider -Beaverton sits at 216.7 per 100K. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. What do you all think? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a lawyer who relocated here from LA about 10 years ago. The main reasons were family and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good internet infrastructure
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Can feel isolated
Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are reasonable, gas is surprisingly good.
Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Good luck with whatever you decide..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Midtown. It's decent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in government. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.
People: Generally underrated. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: average. Tons of options if you like Italian.
Good luck with whatever you decide..

Weather-wise, the summers are improving and winters are growing. You get used to it after the first year.

I've been living here for 13 years and I'd say the quality of life is solid. The walkability is average compared to other places I've lived. Overall Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
