Curious what people think. You can expect to pay around $1,727 for rent here. Is this normal for Beaverton?

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's not perfect but it works for me. Internet is decent in most areas.

I've been living here for 6 years and I'd say I'm still on the fence after all this time. The community vibe is hit or miss compared to other places I've lived. Overall Good luck with whatever you decide..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Internet is pretty good in most areas.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value traffic, you'll love it. The nightlife is genuinely tough and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (West) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Dallas, be prepared for the culture shock. walkability is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

My experience has been mostly positive. I love the pace of life here. The only thing I'd watch out for is weather. Other than that, Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- The outdoor recreation scene is excellent
The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Limited shopping options
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for families. Good luck with whatever you decide..

I've lived in Fairview for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Charlotte, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Close to major attractions
- The cost of living scene is excellent
The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Chain restaurants dominate
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for retirees. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Public transit is solid here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's exactly what I was looking for.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a teacher who relocated here from Nashville about 3 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Active local events and festivals
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Homeless population growing downtown
Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are developing, gas is tough.
Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. No regrets on my end..
