Working remotely from Beaverton

Curious what people think. Median household income is $94,279, which feels pretty solid for the area. Rent is about $1,727/month for a decent place. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Public transit is underrated here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

I work in consulting here and it's exactly what I was looking for. The job market for my field is improving. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want walkability, then yeah this place is great. But if public transit matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I've been living here for 15 years and I'd say it exceeded my expectations. The food scene is tough compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in The Heights for 5 years. Moved from Pittsburgh for a job opportunity. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is surprisingly good. We bought in 2017 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.

**Employment:**
education is strong here. education is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are pricey for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
the quality of life is solid. The outdoor scene is tough - we have hiking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. The Heights schools are surprisingly good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Traffic during rush hour is rough. Limited entertainment options. And public transit can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 7/10. No regrets on my end.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Came here for cost of living and stayed because I love the pace of life here. The healthcare is honestly excellent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

As someone who grew up here, it exceeded my expectations. A lot has changed in the past few years though. outdoor recreation used to be much affordable but now it's underrated.
