Beckett vs New York -which is better?

I'm single, late 50s, and With a population of 5,072, Beckett is a small town. Rent is about $1,839/month for a decent place. Homes are going for about $279,300 on average. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Should I be concerned?...
