OK so Average temperature is around 65--F, so the weather is moderate. Crime rate is something to consider -Bedford sits at 291.3 per 100K. Poverty rate is 6.5%, which is pretty low. The unemployment rate is 3.3%, which is pretty low. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The weather takes some getting used to. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

I work in engineering here and I genuinely enjoy living here. The job market for my field is pretty good. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a project manager who relocated here from Raleigh about 6 years ago. The main reasons were family and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Lots of new development happening

Cons that are real:
- Limited entertainment options
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are pricey, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
