Rent vs buy in Bedford -what makes sense?

Curious what people think. Rent is about $876/month for a decent place. With a population of 6,703, Bedford is a small town. Median household income is $47,697, which feels on the lower side for the area. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a electrician who relocated here from Seattle about 1 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Property taxes are high

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are manageable, gas is underrated.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. No regrets on my end..

My experience has been mostly positive. I have mixed feelings honestly. The only thing I'd watch out for is dating scene. Other than that, No regrets on my end..
