Best and worst neighborhoods in Beech Grove

Longtime lurker here, I'm a teacher here and With a population of 15,082, Beech Grove is a small town. Homes are going for about $169,500 on average. Crime rate is something to consider -Beech Grove sits at 172.0 per 100K. The median home value here is around $169,500, which is actually reasonable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. What would you do? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

I work in engineering here and the quality of life is solid. The job market for my field is average. Hope this helps!.

Came here for a job opportunity and stayed because there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The nightlife is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Used to live on the Sunset side, now on the Old Town side. Completely different vibe. I have mixed feelings honestly.

I've lived in Cedar Grove for about 6 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Dallas, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good healthcare facilities
- The cost of living scene is better than expected

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for singles. Definitely worth checking out..
