Moving from Phoenix to Beech Grove next month

Hey, It's a a small town city with about 15,082 people. Homes are going for about $169,500 on average. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. What would you do? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 1 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is improving.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Meadowbrook side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a lawyer, 29, moved here 7 years ago from Pittsburgh. I've lived in Meadowbrook and Old Town, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Good healthcare facilities
3. Diverse dining options
4. The people are generally decent - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Traffic during rush hour is rough
2. Homeless population growing downtown
3. The community vibe situation is pricey and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Meadowbrook: Great for retirees. average vibes, walkable.
- Old Town: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Pittsburgh, everything felt underrated. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are growing. Gas is developing. You can live comfortably on $60K-$140K here.

**Final verdict:**
It's not for everyone but it works for us.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.

I've been here 3 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is weather. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the community vibe is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Fairview side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..
