Considering Beechwood vs Los Angeles -help me decide

So, I'm a 23-year-old graphic designer and Homes are going for about $239,400 on average. Crime rate is something to consider -Beechwood sits at 694.8 per 100K. Rent is about $902/month for a decent place. With a population of 3,708, Beechwood is a small town. It's a a small town city with about 3,708 people. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Anyone in a similar situation? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

I've lived in Old Town for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Strong job market in several industries
- The job market scene is underrated

The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for couples. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cultural scene, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely challenging and I've found it exceeded my expectations. My neighborhood (Lakewood) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Baltimore, be prepared for the culture shock. cost of living is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
