First post here. Household incomes average around $51,016 in Beggs. Poverty rate is 17.1%, which is higher than I expected. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a chef who relocated here from Austin about 6 years ago. The main reasons were weather and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Lots of new development happening
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Dating scene is rough
Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are pricey, gas is surprisingly good.
Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. No regrets on my end..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Charlotte and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Downtown. It's tough for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in tech. If you're in education you might struggle.
People: Generally improving. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: average. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.
