OK so I'm single, late 50s, and With a population of 57,702, Bel Air South is a smaller city. The weather takes some getting used to. What neighborhoods would you suggest? It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Used to live on the Fairview side, now on the Pine Hills side. Completely different vibe. I genuinely enjoy living here.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Chicago about 10 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Lots of new development happening
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are manageable, gas is improving.
Socially, the quality of life is solid. Definitely worth checking out..

Came here for family and stayed because it exceeded my expectations. The walkability is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Tampa about 12 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Decent public transit for the size
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Dating scene is rough
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are established, gas is underrated.
Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Definitely worth checking out..
