Weekend activities in Bel Air South?

Born and raised here. The unemployment rate is 2.3%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $384,000 on average. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. What are your go-to spots? Any help is appreciated. The weather takes some getting used to. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

I've been living here for 7 years and I'd say there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The safety is better than expected compared to other places I've lived. Overall No regrets on my end..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value safety, you'll love it. The community vibe is genuinely excellent and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (The Heights) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Phoenix, be prepared for the culture shock. healthcare is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
