Weekend activities in Bell?

OK so I'm retired and Rent is about $1,538/month for a decent place. It's a a smaller city city with about 32,830 people. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Does this match your experience? Cheers.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Miami and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Springfield. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in marketing. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Southern.

No regrets on my end..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from New York about 8 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Active local events and festivals
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are developing, gas is tough.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
