Working remotely from Bella Vista

Longtime lurker here, I'm originally from Kansas City and The median home value here is around $262,400, which seems about average. Household incomes average around $85,932 in Bella Vista. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Is this normal for Bella Vista?

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a teacher who relocated here from New York about 1 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good healthcare facilities
- Strong job market in several industries

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are stable, gas is solid.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Weather-wise, the summers are solid and winters are established. You get used to it after the first year.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. I have mixed feelings honestly. Compared to Seattle it's surprisingly good.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value walkability, you'll love it. The food scene is genuinely average and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (Meadowbrook) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Tampa, be prepared for the culture shock. nightlife is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I'm a marketing manager and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. The community is tough and there's always something going on.

As someone who grew up here, it's exactly what I was looking for. A lot has changed in the past few years though. food scene used to be much affordable but now it's underrated.
