How much do you pay for rent in Bellair-Meadowbrook Terrace?

Anyone else feel this way? I'm a college student here and Homes are going for about $218,700 on average. Rent is about $1,395/month for a decent place. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Am I wrong here? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The city has invested a lot in new development. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value food scene, you'll love it. The community vibe is genuinely average and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (Lakewood) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Seattle, be prepared for the culture shock. traffic is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 6 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is improving.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Midtown side vs the Maple Ridge side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..
