Hey everyone, Poverty rate is 1.4%, which is pretty low. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Moved here from Salt Lake City about 10 years ago. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Still getting used to food scene but Definitely worth checking out..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.
I've been here 7 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is average.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the West side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

The food scene here is tough. Tons of great Mediterranean places. it's improved dramatically in recent years.

Public transit is hit or miss here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's improved dramatically in recent years.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want traffic, then yeah this place is great. But if traffic matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. I have mixed feelings honestly. Compared to Baltimore it's challenging.

I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The job market scene is underrated
The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Not very walkable outside downtown
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for retirees. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I'm a data analyst and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. The community is surprisingly good and there's always something going on.
