Curious what people think. My family moved here when I was a kid. You can expect to pay around $2,645 for rent here. Median household income is $219,215, which feels pretty solid for the area. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

I work in hospitality here and I genuinely enjoy living here. The job market for my field is pretty good. No regrets on my end..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want food scene, then yeah this place is great. But if traffic matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I've lived in Westside for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Charlotte, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Decent public transit for the size
- The healthcare scene is pretty good
The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Homeless population growing downtown
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for singles. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Came here for work and stayed because there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The community vibe is honestly decent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's been a really good experience overall. No regrets on my end..

I'm a lawyer and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The community is pretty good and there's always something going on.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value public transit, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely pretty good and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (Oak Park) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from LA, be prepared for the culture shock. housing market is completely different here. And Limited high-paying job options.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
