Rent vs buy in Belle Plaine -what makes sense?
We're a young couple and Average temperature is around 57--F, so the weather is moderate. Homes are going for about $121,500 on average. Poverty rate is 11.8%, which is around average. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.
Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Good job market
- Friendly people
- Lots of new development
- Good airport connections
Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Hot summers
- Cold winters
- Lack of diversity
- Limited cultural events
Anyone in a similar situation? The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The city has invested a lot in new development.
