Hey folks, We have two kids and Homes are going for about $92,500 on average. You can expect to pay around $1,086 for rent here. Crime rate is something to consider -Bellefontaine Neighbors sits at 1,190.5 per 100K. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The weather takes some getting used to. What do you all think? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Bought a house here in 2017 and I genuinely enjoy living here. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value nightlife, you'll love it. The pet-friendliness is genuinely average and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. My neighborhood (Highland) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Raleigh, be prepared for the culture shock. cultural scene is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've been living here for 13 years and I'd say I genuinely enjoy living here. The cultural scene is improving compared to other places I've lived. Overall No regrets on my end..
