Moving to Bellefontaine -what should I know?

My family moved here when I was a kid. With a population of 14,051, Bellefontaine is a small town. Homes are going for about $163,500 on average. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Is this normal for Bellefontaine?

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are decent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value nightlife, you'll love it. The pet-friendliness is genuinely excellent and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (Maple Ridge) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Baltimore, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Urban sprawl is real.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you value school system, you'll love it. The dating scene is genuinely improving and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (East) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Boston, be prepared for the culture shock. job market is completely different here. And Not a lot of cultural diversity.
