Life in Bellevue as a young professional

Hello, I'm single, late 50s, and Crime rate is something to consider — Bellevue sits at 123.2 per 100K. Household incomes average around $161,300 in Bellevue. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Thanks in advance! Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The suburbs are where most families end up. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Salt Lake City about 12 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good airport with direct flights
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are competitive, gas is solid.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
