I got a job offer in Bellevue, WA and I'm seriously considering the move. I'm coming from a mid-size city. A few questions:
1. Which neighborhoods should I look at for a $2000-3000 budget?
2. How's the commute situation?
3. Is the crime rate accurate for day-to-day life?
4. Any hidden costs I should know about?
Thanks in advance!

The food scene here is seriously underrated. So many great restaurants.

I've lived in Cedar Hills for 12 years and it's decent, has its pros and cons.

Downtown is overrated and overpriced. The suburbs offer way better value.

Weather is the biggest factor for us. Four seasons are nice, not too extreme either way.

Rent tip: look for places in October-November. Prices drop and there's more availability.

Can confirm the safety issue. But it really depends on the neighborhood. Eastside and Old Town are perfectly safe.

Totally agree with this. I've been here 12 years and my experience is very similar.

Check out the Pine Grove area. Way more affordable and still close to everything.

Good summary. I'd rate it higher personally — maybe 9/10.

As someone who moved here from San Francisco, I can confirm most of this. The cost of living surprised me the most.
