I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is community vibe. it's exactly what I was looking for. Worth doing your research before committing.

Weather-wise, the summers are excellent and winters are growing. You get used to it after the first year.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Riverside. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in retail. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: decent. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

I work in hospitality here and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The job market for my field is challenging. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Bought a house here in 2017 and it was the best decision I ever made. Property values have gone up significantly since then.
