Average temperature is around 56--F, so the weather is moderate. With a population of 11,678, Bellmawr is a small town. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Came here for work and stayed because it exceeded my expectations. The cultural scene is honestly surprisingly good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a writer who relocated here from Salt Lake City about 8 years ago. The main reasons were school and family.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Decent public transit for the size
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Dating scene is rough
Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are developing, gas is solid.
Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Feel free to reach out with questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in South. It's surprisingly good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.
People: Generally solid. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like sushi.
Definitely worth checking out..

I've lived in Highland for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Boston, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Lots of new development happening
- The outdoor recreation scene is pretty good
The downsides:
- Homeless population growing downtown
- Limited entertainment options
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for families. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
