Is it worth buying in Bellmore?

The median home value here is around $661,700, which is pretty steep. Average temperature is around 55--F, so the weather is moderate. It's a a small town city with about 15,652 people. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a accountant who relocated here from Tampa about 12 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Active local events and festivals
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Limited shopping options
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are manageable, gas is solid.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Good luck with whatever you decide..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from LA and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Old Town. It's hit or miss for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in retail. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

Feel free to reach out with questions..
