Longtime lurker here, I grew up here but left for a while. The unemployment rate is 2.9%, which is pretty low. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Is this normal for Bellview? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Dallas about 13 years ago. The main reasons were family and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good airport with direct flights
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Homeless population growing downtown
Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are stable, gas is surprisingly good.
Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
