Moving to Bellview with kids -good idea?

OK so Rent is about $1,237/month for a decent place. Household incomes average around $62,375 in Bellview. Crime rate is something to consider -Bellview sits at 705.5 per 100K. Median household income is $62,375, which feels about average for the area. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The weather takes some getting used to.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. it exceeded my expectations. Compared to Denver it's underrated.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Denver and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Riverside. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in government. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Thai.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 7 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into running, this place is solid.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The The Heights side vs the Maple Ridge side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Eastside. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in finance. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like seafood.

No regrets on my end..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is nightlife. it was the best decision I ever made. Worth doing your research before committing.
