Bellwood is underrated, change my mind
Hello, I'm a 53-year-old writer and Rent is about $1,132/month for a decent place. With a population of 8,489, Bellwood is a small town. The median home value here is around $192,600, which is actually reasonable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.
Pros:
- Low crime in most areas
- Diverse community
- Lots of new development
- Walkable downtown
- Plenty of shopping options
Cons:
- Not very walkable
- Lack of diversity
- Homelessness issues downtown
It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.
