My family moved here when I was a kid. Crime rate is something to consider -Bellwood sits at 578.6 per 100K. With a population of 8,489, Bellwood is a small town. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The city has invested a lot in new development. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The food scene here is surprisingly good.
