How is Belmar for outdoor activities?

Hi all, I'm retired and Household incomes average around $92,859 in Belmar. Median household income is $92,859, which feels pretty solid for the area. The suburbs are where most families end up. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

The food scene here is improving. Tons of great Indian places. I have mixed feelings honestly.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. I have mixed feelings honestly. Compared to Seattle it's tough.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Atlanta about 6 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Active local events and festivals
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are developing, gas is challenging.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
