Hello, I'm a remote worker and The median home value here is around $658,400, which is pretty steep. It's a a small town city with about 7,190 people. The weather takes some getting used to. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The city has invested a lot in new development.

I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Seattle, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The weather scene is solid

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Limited high-paying job options

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for singles. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 13 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Eastside side vs the Maple Ridge side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in West for 7 years. Moved from Austin for work. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is decent. We bought in 2020 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.

**Employment:**
education is strong here. manufacturing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are wild for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it exceeded my expectations. The outdoor scene is decent - we have hiking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. West schools are excellent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Not very walkable outside downtown. Limited high-paying job options. And food scene can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 7/10. Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I've lived in North for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Tampa, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Good internet infrastructure
- The nightlife scene is average

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Homeless population growing downtown

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for families. Good luck with whatever you decide..
