Belton is underrated, change my mind

Hey folks, My partner and I are You can expect to pay around $1,235 for rent here. Household incomes average around $70,525 in Belton. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. What would you do? Appreciate any input. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

I've lived in Pine Hills for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Charlotte, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Close to major attractions
- The cost of living scene is solid

The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Can feel isolated

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for singles. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. it's not perfect but it works for me. Compared to Minneapolis it's challenging.

I've lived in East for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Affordable housing options
- The safety scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for remote workers. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a project manager, 48, moved here 13 years ago from New York. I've lived in Lakewood and The Heights, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Strong job market in several industries
2. Close to major attractions
3. Diverse dining options
4. The people are generally average - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Nightlife is limited
2. Not very walkable outside downtown
3. The community vibe situation is affordable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Lakewood: Great for remote workers. better than expected vibes, walkable.
- The Heights: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from New York, everything felt decent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are established. Gas is stable. You can live comfortably on $40K-$100K here.

**Final verdict:**
Good luck with whatever you decide.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

The food scene here is pretty good. Tons of great farm-to-table places. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want healthcare, then yeah this place is great. But if traffic matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
