Quick question about Belton

Rent is about $1,237/month for a decent place. The unemployment rate is 1.4%, which is pretty low. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Anyone in a similar situation? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value dating scene, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely hit or miss and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (The Heights) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Baltimore, be prepared for the culture shock. traffic is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a lawyer, 36, moved here 1 years ago from Miami. I've lived in Uptown and Springfield, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good internet infrastructure
2. Affordable housing options
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally challenging - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Limited shopping options
2. Limited entertainment options
3. The job market situation is reasonable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Uptown: Great for retirees. hit or miss vibes, walkable.
- Springfield: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Miami, everything felt hit or miss. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are manageable. Gas is reasonable. You can live comfortably on $80K-$90K here.

**Final verdict:**
Would recommend to anyone considering it.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. I have mixed feelings honestly. Compared to New York it's average.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a electrician who relocated here from Charlotte about 5 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Lots of new development happening
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are established, gas is decent.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. Feel free to reach out with questions..
