Best industries in Belvidere right now

Curious what people think. I work in automotive and It's a a small town city with about 24,510 people. The unemployment rate is 4.7%, which is about average. Homes are going for about $153,100 on average. Crime rate is something to consider -Belvidere sits at 254.5 per 100K. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The city has invested a lot in new development. Am I overthinking this? The weather takes some getting used to.

We moved here with our family and the quality of life is solid. Schools in Greenfield area are hit or miss. Kids love it here.

Hot take but it's improved dramatically in recent years. I know a lot of people disagree but after 15 years here, that's my honest assessment.

The food scene here is challenging. Tons of great Italian places. I have mixed feelings honestly.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from San Francisco about 15 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Affordable housing options
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are developing, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
