Bend is underrated, change my mind

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I relocated for work and Average temperature is around 49--F, so expect cold winters. You can expect to pay around $1,767 for rent here. Poverty rate is 5.7%, which is pretty low. Rent is about $1,767/month for a decent place. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Pros:
- Good schools
- Good healthcare facilities
- Plenty of shopping options
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Hot summers
- Lack of diversity
- Homelessness issues downtown
What do you all think? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

I work in tech here and it was the best decision I ever made. The job market for my field is hit or miss. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's exactly what I was looking for. Feel free to reach out with questions..
