Moving from Boston to Bend next month

Hello, You can expect to pay around $1,767 for rent here. Crime rate is something to consider -Bend sits at 153.1 per 100K. Median household income is $88,792, which feels pretty solid for the area. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The weather takes some getting used to. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The suburbs are where most families end up. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Compared to Chicago it's average.

I've lived in South for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good airport with direct flights
- Diverse dining options
- The healthcare scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Homeless population growing downtown

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for remote workers. Happy to answer more specific questions..

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from San Diego, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Lots of new development happening
- The school system scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Chain restaurants dominate

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for families. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Came here for work and stayed because I have mixed feelings honestly. The community vibe is honestly pretty good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I work in legal here and it's exactly what I was looking for. The job market for my field is solid. Good luck with whatever you decide..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Sunset. It's tough for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in legal. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: tough. Tons of options if you like Asian.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..
