Raising a family in Bend -thoughts?

OK so Household incomes average around $88,792 in Bend. The median home value here is around $646,800, which is pretty steep. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Has anyone dealt with this?

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from LA and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Sunset. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in real estate. If you're in engineering you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: tough. Tons of options if you like Thai.
