Why I chose Benicia over bigger cities

Hey, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Crime rate is something to consider -Benicia sits at 56.2 per 100K. It's a a smaller city city with about 26,861 people. The food scene here is surprisingly good. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.
