Curious what people think. The median home value here is around $199,400, which is actually reasonable. Homes are going for about $199,400 on average. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Am I wrong here?

I've lived in Old Town for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Dallas, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Active local events and festivals
- Good airport with direct flights
- The cultural scene scene is excellent
The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Limited shopping options
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for couples. Definitely worth checking out..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value cultural scene, you'll love it. The cost of living is genuinely better than expected and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (North) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Salt Lake City, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Can feel isolated.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. it's not perfect but it works for me. Compared to Pittsburgh it's tough.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are underrated, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I've been living here for 6 years and I'd say I'm still on the fence after all this time. The walkability is improving compared to other places I've lived. Overall Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
