Thinking about relocating to Berkeley from Seattle

OK so We're a young couple and You can expect to pay around $2,127 for rent here. Rent is about $2,127/month for a decent place. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. What do you all think? I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I genuinely enjoy living here. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Came here for weather and stayed because the quality of life is solid. The walkability is honestly underrated and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a accountant who relocated here from Houston about 11 years ago. The main reasons were school and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are growing, gas is underrated.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. No regrets on my end..
