Berlin is underrated, change my mind

Hey folks, Rent is about $1,079/month for a decent place. It's a a small town city with about 5,161 people. Crime rate is something to consider -Berlin sits at 61.7 per 100K. The median home value here is around $345,100, which seems about average. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Is this normal for Berlin? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cultural scene, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely challenging and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (Fairview) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Charlotte, be prepared for the culture shock. public transit is completely different here. And Not a lot of cultural diversity.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I'm a electrician and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. The community is decent and there's always something going on.
