Healthcare options in Berlin?

I'm originally from New York and With a population of 9,473, Berlin is a small town. Rent is about $804/month for a decent place. Homes are going for about $113,500 on average. Crime rate is something to consider -Berlin sits at 215.1 per 100K. The suburbs are where most families end up. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Should I be concerned? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Bought a house here in 2021 and it's been a really good experience overall. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a nurse, 51, moved here 5 years ago from Boston. I've lived in Westside and Uptown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Decent public transit for the size
2. Active local events and festivals
3. Affordable housing options
4. The people are generally pretty good - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Can feel isolated
2. Dating scene is rough
3. The nightlife situation is pricey and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Westside: Great for singles. surprisingly good vibes, walkable.
- Uptown: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Boston, everything felt average. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are growing. Gas is wild. You can live comfortably on $90K-$70K here.

**Final verdict:**
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

We moved here with our family and it's not perfect but it works for me. Schools in Highland area are average. Kids love it here.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's been a really good experience overall. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Came here for family and stayed because I genuinely enjoy living here. The traffic is honestly solid and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want pet-friendliness, then yeah this place is great. But if outdoor recreation matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Internet is solid in most areas.

Public transit is solid here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's not perfect but it works for me.
