Hello, I grew up here but left for a while. With a population of 5,523, Berlin is a small town. The median home value here is around $143,800, which is actually reasonable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I love the pace of life here. Internet is tough in most areas.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are average, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
