Things that make Bermuda Run unique

The median home value here is around $309,800, which seems about average. The weather takes some getting used to. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

I work in retail here and I have mixed feelings honestly. The job market for my field is challenging. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Compared to Boston it's decent.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value pet-friendliness, you'll love it. The food scene is genuinely tough and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (Springfield) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from New York, be prepared for the culture shock. school system is completely different here. And Urban sprawl is real.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Maple Ridge for 3 years. Moved from Tampa for quality of life. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is excellent. We bought in 2015 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable.

**Employment:**
retail is strong here. government is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are growing for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The outdoor scene is average - we have national forests within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Maple Ridge schools are hit or miss. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Traffic during rush hour is rough. Chain restaurants dominate. And weather can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 7/10. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are pretty good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
