Best apartments in Berwick under ?

Alright, Just moved here 18 months ago and Poverty rate is 18.6%, which is higher than I expected. You can expect to pay around $788 for rent here. The unemployment rate is 2.3%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Berwick sits at 232.8 per 100K. Homes are going for about $135,000 on average. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Good job market
- Strong sense of community
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Rising rent prices
- Limited dining options
- Far from major airports
Any advice would be great. Thanks! The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The food scene here is surprisingly good. If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Internet is decent in most areas.

Public transit is hit or miss here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I have mixed feelings honestly.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Denver and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Lakewood. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in engineering. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like seafood.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a lawyer, 56, moved here 11 years ago from Tampa. I've lived in East and Lakewood, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Strong job market in several industries
2. Affordable housing options
3. Diverse dining options
4. The people are generally average - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Dating scene is rough
2. Homeless population growing downtown
3. The job market situation is competitive and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- East: Great for retirees. surprisingly good vibes, walkable.
- Lakewood: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Tampa, everything felt underrated. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are manageable. Gas is reasonable. You can live comfortably on $80K-$130K here.

**Final verdict:**
It's not for everyone but it works for us.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
