Top 5 things I love about Berwick

Hey everyone, The unemployment rate is 2.3%, which is pretty low. Rent is about $788/month for a decent place. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Am I wrong here? Looking forward to hearing from you all. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.

I've been here 9 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Maple Ridge side vs the Greenfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..

Weather-wise, the summers are hit or miss and winters are manageable. You get used to it after the first year.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value food scene, you'll love it. The community vibe is genuinely challenging and I've found it exceeded my expectations. My neighborhood (Fairview) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Boston, be prepared for the culture shock. pet-friendliness is completely different here. And Can feel isolated.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Salt Lake City and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Eastside. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in government. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like Southern.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..
