Is Bethpage good for remote workers?

Random thought, Anyone in a similar situation? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.

I've been here 15 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Lakewood side vs the Meadowbrook side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..

I work in government here and it's not perfect but it works for me. The job market for my field is average. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Houston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Riverside. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in legal. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a chef who relocated here from Portland about 1 years ago. The main reasons were family and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good internet infrastructure
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are developing, gas is solid.

Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Definitely worth checking out..
