What surprised you most about Bettendorf?
I relocated for work and It's a a smaller city city with about 39,297 people. Median household income is $102,917, which feels pretty solid for the area. Rent is about $1,148/month for a decent place. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.
Pros:
- Close to nature
- Diverse community
- Easy commute
- Strong sense of community
- Good airport connections
Cons:
- Limited public transit
- Hot summers
- Lack of diversity
- Limited cultural events
Am I wrong here? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.
