Been meaning to ask this. I grew up here but left for a while. You can expect to pay around $2,805 for rent here. Crime rate is something to consider -Beverly Hills sits at 301.1 per 100K. It's a a smaller city city with about 31,955 people. Homes are going for about $2,000,001 on average. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Fairview. It's average for what you get.
Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in retail. If you're in marketing you might struggle.
People: Generally solid. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: average. Tons of options if you like Indian.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I've been living here for 2 years and I'd say it's improved dramatically in recent years. The job market is excellent compared to other places I've lived. Overall No regrets on my end..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Definitely worth checking out..
