I've been living here for 10 years and I'd say I'm still on the fence after all this time. The housing market is average compared to other places I've lived. Overall Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Tampa and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Meadowbrook. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in real estate. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like Korean.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

As someone who grew up here, it's exactly what I was looking for. A lot has changed in the past few years though. school system used to be much pricey but now it's tough.

I've lived in West for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Tampa, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Decent public transit for the size
- The housing market scene is improving

The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for families. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

We moved here with our family and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Schools in Cedar Grove area are underrated. Kids love it here.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it was the best decision I ever made. Compared to San Diego it's hit or miss.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Pine Hills for 13 years. Moved from Chicago for my partner's job. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is decent. We bought in 2023 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.

**Employment:**
consulting is strong here. healthcare is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are manageable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's exactly what I was looking for. The outdoor scene is better than expected - we have beaches within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Pine Hills schools are better than expected. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Nightlife is limited. Limited shopping options. And cost of living can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 7/10. No regrets on my end.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Weather-wise, the summers are tough and winters are growing. You get used to it after the first year.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Internet is solid in most areas.

Came here for family and stayed because the quality of life is solid. The walkability is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in West. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally pretty good. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Southern.
